Now 81 years old and tremendous as ever, Smith excels at playing characters who have stopped caring about what other people think, and the brusque, onion-eating Miss Shepherd sits right in that wheelhouse. But the main character here is actually Alex Jennings as Alan, a bookish and withdrawn playwright of questionable talent. The story comes from his perspective, a closeted gay man who quietly resists the "odoriferous concerto" emanating from the yellow van in his driveway. Beyond the inherently icky premise of framing a story around a destitute and dying woman teaching a privileged jerk to be slightly less of a privileged jerk, the character of Alan never fully comes to life. The film splits Alan into two different characters struggling for supremacy—Alan the writer and Alan the man. There are flashbacks within flashbacks, narration on top of narration, twee narrative misdirects and a lead character who talks to his own imaginary double. By the time the real-life Bennett rides up on his bicycle to meet the actor playing Bennett, the film has disappeared into a script gimmick wormhole of its own design.

Hello, I've finally started to play around with HDR. I have an LG 2018 TV and a Xbox One X. I first started with Forza 7 to get the HDR working and see the logo popup when the game starts. Now I have moved onto Plex and 4K movies, as there is so much information on the web I went and downloaded The Matrix (1999) in 4K. Reading around I see that to avoid transcoding everything has to be in the right format. I was able to get the movie to play, HDR logo popped up! Checking the Plex dashboard its showing 4k (HVEC Main 10) direct stream English (ACE 5. 1) direct stream Now I'm looking to move onto the next phase which is pick up the LG SK10Y sound bar which has 7. 1 Dolby Atmos. I was planning to plug Xbox One X -> SK10Y -> LG TV all using HDMI. Q1. Will there be any issues with the Plex App on Xbox One X? From what I've read as long as I do passthrough audio the SK10Y should work. Q2. Looking at the file in Plex I only see 4 drop down options: DTS-HD MA 7. 1, TRUEHD 7. 1, AC3 5. 1, and AC3 Stereo.
